After my trip to South Korea, I’ve been itching to dive back into the world of K-pop. The music, the culture, and the whole vibe of K-pop concerts—everything about it just drew me in. But when it came to choosing which group I wanted to see live, I was stuck. There are so many amazing artists, but no one really stood out to me… until I found Seventeen.
Seventeen quickly became my favorite group. They’re so talented! Their music is catchy, their dances are on point, and their bond as a group is so genuine. It felt like I could really connect with them. But still, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to go to a K-pop concert. There’s a lot to take in—fan chants, light sticks, and the excitement of being in a huge crowd. It all felt a bit overwhelming.
Then, something amazing happened.
My colleague, Karen, who’s a huge Seventeen fan, mentioned that she was going to their two-day concert in Bulacan. She’s seen them perform live before, but the energy and excitement are always the same, she said. I could tell from her excitement that this concert would be something special. And she invited me to join her.
At first, I wasn’t sure. This would be my first K-pop concert, and I had no idea what to expect. But Karen has been a Seventeen fan for so long and knows everything about their concerts. She promised me that she’d help me with the fan chants, teach me what to expect, and make sure I have an awesome time.
So, without thinking too much, I decided to go for it. How could I miss the chance to see Seventeen live for the first time, especially with a friend who’s already been to their shows? I’m sure it’s going to be a lot of fun having someone with me who knows all the ins and outs of a K-pop concert.
Karen and I have already started planning everything. We’ve been talking about what to wear (definitely something cool and comfy!) and which Seventeen songs we’re most excited to hear live. I’ve even started practicing the fan chants! If you’ve ever seen a K-pop concert, you know the crowd is super involved, so I’m determined to keep up!
The more I think about it, the more excited I get. Seventeen performing their biggest hits, with thousands of fans cheering and singing along? I can’t wait to be a part of that energy. There’s something magical about seeing your favorite artists perform live—it’s like you’re all part of one huge moment.
Even though I’ve only been a casual K-pop fan, there’s something about Seventeen that feels so special. Their music makes me want to sing, their performances make me want to dance, and the thought of being there with other fans just adds to the excitement. I can already picture the light sticks glowing, the fans chanting, and the adrenaline building as the concert gets closer.
What am I most excited about? Honestly, everything! From the moment the lights go down and the music starts, I know it’s going to be unforgettable. The energy of seeing Seventeen live will be worth it alone, but I’m also pumped to hear my favorite songs performed right in front of me. And of course, sharing the whole experience with Karen makes it even better.
Around 2:00 PM, Karen and her relatives picked me up from our office in Pasay, and we were off to Bulacan. On the way, she helped me with my makeup and added some glitter to my face—got to be extra for a K-pop concert, right? As soon as we arrived in Bulacan, I could barely contain my excitement. I was snapping photos of Seventeen posters all over the place. My bias (that’s what fans call their favorite member) is Hoshi—he’s just so cute and full of energy! But honestly, I adore all the members. After grabbing a quick lunch and snack, we came across some fans handing out free Seventeen-themed freebies, including cute little figures, which was such a fun surprise! We also stopped by the Carat Zone, which I had subscribed to on Weverse (the global K-pop fan platform only for Hybe Kpop bands). There, I got a special treat—a Seventeen member card! It’s something you can trade with other Carats (that’s what Seventeen fans are called). Once we were done checking out all the cool fan stuff, we made our way to the concert venue.
When we got there, we had to join the standing queue. I didn’t realize there was an assigned queuing number for standing spots! It’s definitely different from Western concerts, where the first ones to arrive get the best spots near the stage. Since we bought our tickets just two days before the concert, we ended up with a queue number in the 2k+ range, but I was totally fine with that. I didn’t really want to be near the barricade anyway—getting out after the concert would’ve been a nightmare if we were stuck at the front.
Concert Experience
Seventeen, made up of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, WoonWoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino (though without Jeonghan and Jun on this tour) kicked off their Seventeen [RIGHT HERE] Asia Tour at the Philippine Stadium in Bulacan. Even though they weren’t at full strength (Jeonghan is off for his mandatory military enlistment, and Jun is focusing on his acting career—he’s even starring in a movie with Jackie Chan!), Seventeen still brought their signature energy, and the crowd couldn’t have been more hyped.
One of my favorite things was the carts they used to move around the stadium. It was such a great idea! They got to ride in these carts, giving fans a chance to see them up close from different angles. It felt so personal, and I couldn’t believe I was seeing them so clearly! The fireworks during the performance were another highlight. Every time they went off, it just added to the excitement and made the whole experience even more magical. Definitely something I’ll always look forward to at their concerts!

From chanting “ener-energy” during Super to shouting “kung chi pak chi” in God of Music, the fanchants were powerful and full of passion, echoing through the stadium. Despite the intense heat and the long wait, the fans gave it their all, matching Seventeen’s energy with every note and scream. It was pure joy—everyone was on a high, feeding off that positive energy.
In a refreshing change from their usual Aju Nice encore, Seventeen brought out the big guns for the finale. They ran through a bunch of fan-favorite songs, putting everyone to the test with their knowledge of the group’s discography—and we all passed with flying colors. The crowd was jumping, singing, and dancing especially when tracks like ’Bout you, the leader line’s Cheers, and BSS’ Fighting got everyone even more pumped. And of course, they ended the night with a huge finale—another Aju Nice, leaving everyone on a high note, singing their hearts out.
This is just the beginning, too. I can see myself attending even more K-pop concerts in the future. Seventeen is just the start, and I’m already looking forward to seeing more groups live!
Love,
Maria, sometimes, Niskie
