Batangas, Philippines

Life is ironic. I always thought I would be the type of person who settles down, but here I am, constantly uprooting my life. From the country side of Batangas, I am now gazing up skyscrapers of the Filinvest tower in Alabang.

Alabang is 1.5 hours away in north of Batangas. It is a barangay (the smallest local government unit) in Muntinlupa, Philippines. It was previously a farming village that’s grown to urban center that forms one of Manila’s business districts.

Alabang reminds me of Woodlands, Singapore. It’s quiet, bike and pet friendly, many parks to visit for morning walks and run, bustling malls, 3- storey bookstore, and long list of bars, restaurants and al fresco cafes to look forward through out the year.

The downside for me right now is not being with my husky Phoebe. She is a medium sized dog for a condo unit and I had to leave her in Batangas with my brother. I visit her every weekend to bond. She is currently sleeping while I am writing this blog.

Love,

Maria, sometimes Niskie

Oddly enough, this made me miss BGC with how organized the streets look like!

“Here’s my advice for dealing with love or family trauma: accept the apology you’re never going to get and move on. There, I just saved you PHP10,000 in therapy. You’re welcome.”
