M2M brings me back to a time when love was innocent and crushes felt like magic. hahaha! I was 12 years old, in the year 2000, singing Pretty Boy like it was written just for me. We’d wait for their music videos to air on MTV, and when they did, it felt like a small miracle. We recorded those songs on cassette tapes not just to listen, but to preserve a feeling. Music is powerful like that—it carries you through time, letting you hold onto pieces of your youth and share them with your friends who remember too.
When M2M announced their tour seven months ahead of the concert, my friends booked a ticket for me back in October 2024. Thankfully, they managed to secure one—tickets were hard to get at the time due to high demand.
Fast forward to concert day I completely forgot that my friends and I had different seats, so we ended up meeting only after the show. The concert itself was incredible! It instantly brought me back to my high school days. M2M, the iconic Norwegian duo of Marit and Marion, were just as lovely and talented as I remembered. It wasn’t like the usual concerts I go to—it felt more nostalgic, intimate, and emotional. The crowd was amazing too; everyone was singing along, just like I was. I truly felt like a high school girl again, reliving all those cherished memories through their music.
One of the biggest reasons I wanted to see this concert aside from the music I was to finally reconnect with my high school friends, whom I hadn’t seen in such a long time. I’m so glad I did.
After the concert, I met up with Anje and Lends. We took photos to remember the moment and decided to grab something to eat. Booking a Grab was tough with the crowd, but thankfully we found a taxi that was willing to take us. We headed to Filling Station in Poblacion, which is open 24/7. Over dinner, we caught up on life and reminisced about the concert and it felt so good to laugh and talk with them again.
Finally reuniting with my high school best friends meant so much to me. We used to call ourselves Flipstyle, a group of eight smart (and yes, cute!) girls from La Consolacion High School. This time, only three of us made it to the concert, but it still felt incredibly special. Back in the day, they were some of the brightest in class, and honestly, nothing has changed.
It had been years since we last saw each other. With me working in Singapore and the pandemic keeping everyone apart, we never really had the chance to reconnect—until now. Being with Anje and Lends again, even just for one night, made me feel so grateful. Even though we sat in different sections during the concert (oops, haha!), the memories we shared through the music and the moments after made it feel like no time had passed at all.
I absolutely loved the concert! It wasn’t just about the music, but the deep sense of connection it created. Music has a powerful way of bridging time, bringing people together and strengthening lifelong friendships. It was a beautiful reminder of how shared songs and memories can keep us close, even after years apart. I’m truly grateful I made it to this concert it felt like a full-circle moment, reliving the soundtrack of our youth with the people who experienced it with me.
Love,
