Back in 2020, while a pandemic was going around, I decided to start dying my hair pink. And I decided to try out some green shades this time around. It has been said that green is the most daring hair color one may try.

Because it’s so daring, at first I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. But after perusing Pinterest for fashion ideas, I worked up the nerve to give it a go. Previously, my hair was pink, now it’s green. The ash grey is my least favorite because it faded faster than I had hoped it would.

I looked into which salon in Alabang specialized in modern hairstyles and came across Azta Urban Salon, which had received numerous positive ratings. They welcome customers at their Alabang Town Center location beginning at 11 a.m. There was a big line when I arrived at 11 a.m. on February 25 due to the Philippines’ vacation season; I was told to return at 3 p.m. I returned, but we didn’t get going until 330 pm.

They started by assessing my hair and shampooing it, and then Jen, Henry’s associate stylist, began bleaching it. Because I have an appointment at 8:30pm for the Buscalan excursion, I asked them to finish by 7pm. However, they recommended that we could not complete applying the green dye because it would take more than 4 hours. I agreed and returned on March 1st.

To acquire my green hair color, I needed to bleach my hair twice. Crazy hair colors demand time and dedication; the green hair color took 6 hours to complete. I like dyeing dark bold colors versus neon or pastel colors since pastel colors fade readily. I wanted to be able to appreciate the color of my hair for as long as I desired.

Changing my hairstyle is a big commitment that requires me to be mentally and physically prepared. Using white towels to dry my hair would cause the color to fade and leave stains all over, so I avoid doing that. The fact that I dye my hair green and other bright colors demonstrates my daring spirit and my penchant for questioning the established quo. It has a revitalizing and elevating effect on me.

Even though Azta was a great salon, I plan on exploring other options in the future. So far, my favorite hair salon has been Impusle Collective in Singapore. No other hairdresser I visited in the Philippines was able to bleach my pink hair to a platinum white like they did.
