Alabang, Muntinlupa
I have fallen head over heels in love with the food scene in Alabang, particularly because I truly enjoy eating outside. For the past week, Neil’s Kitchen, Purple Oven, and Romantic Baboy (pig) eating locations were the ones that truly jumped out to me as being exceptional.
Neil’s Kitchen
Westgate Alabang
Price: Php250-Php1,500
Accepts Cash, Debit and Credit cards
Neil’s Kitchen is a modern restaurant that serves food with Filipino roots. Aside from the food, I like the way the outside and inside of the place are decorated, which includes a small book shop. I got their sinigang paella, which was a mix of Spanish and Filipino dishes like tamarind soup. The paella had a combination of sweet, sour, and savoury flavours, and the pork belly on the side was soft and juicy. It’s like fireworks of deliciousness! If I had to, I’d get married to this dish. haha. I really like sinigang more than any other Filipino food. But sinigang from my mom will always be the best. Anyway, I’d tell everyone to try this, and if my friends came to visit, I’d show them around here.

Purple Oven
Alabang Town Center
Price: Php150-Php1,000
Accepts cash, debit/credit cards
I’ve been wanting to try this since I was 22, and I finally did it! haha. Purple Oven is a bakery with lots of sweets and cakes to choose from. I ordered sausage turnovers and chocolate lava cake to go. The flakiness of the bread in my turnover was great, and it had a nice crunch that went well with the savoury, meaty sausage that was fresh from the oven. The lava cake is a lovely chocolate mixture that is gooey and not too sweet for me. I’m actually not a fan of sweets. haha, but I’d still eat this lava cake. Even though the inside wasn’t melted, it’s a delicious treat to have in the morning with your coffee.

Romantic Baboy
Festival Mall
Price: Php599-Php1,000
Accepts Cash, Debit/Credit cards
This is by far the best Korean barbeque I’ve ever had, and it only cost Php599 for as much pork and beef as you could eat. Their meat was so soft and full of flavour. They use pork and beef that is both simple and marinated, which I really liked. The staff was friendly and the place was busy. They even gave us a white rose to show that it was a lovely place. I probably wouldn’t find it as sweet if we had to pay. haha! The beef and pork choices, the service, and the side dishes will bring me back. The bad thing about this place was that you could smell ashes when you left.

Brother’s Burger
Westgate Alabang
Price: Php250-Php700
Accepts Cash, Debit/Credit cards
I got this burger on Valentine’s Day because I wanted to take myself out on a date, but I’m not sure why I paid an extra Php100 for a small amount of fries when I could have just ordered the fries separately. If you added fries to your ala carte meal, it would cost you Php350. It’s not worth it at all.
I used to love their burgers when I was 22. For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to try them again. haha But the flavour changed. Even though the patty is still tender, it’s not the same burger I used to like. After all these years, I’ve had better burgers, so this one didn’t meet my expectations.

Ramen Nagi
Php300-Php700
Alabang Town Center
Accepts Cash, Credit/Debit Cards
On Valentine’s Day, my sister-in-law and I went to one of Alabang’s ramen places. I tried this one when I was 26 and liked it. But things are different now. Was it because I don’t have a Valentine? haha No, I won’t blog about it here. Not to get off topic, but the ramen was bad and made us sad. For the soup, meat, and noodles, it’s expensive. We were wondering if it was because we made it just the way we liked it. In this place, you can choose based on your tastes or the chef’s. We went with ours. The meat wasn’t tender, the broth wasn’t very flavorful or thick, the noodles were hard, and the meat wasn’t soft. We also got chicken karage with ginger, which I really don’t like because it smells strong and tastes sweet and spicy. I really didn’t like this because the ginger was too strong. I don’t think I’d ever go back, but I’ll definitely try other places that serve ramen.

The Exchange Alley Coffee House
Molito Alabang Complex
Price Php250-Php500-00
Accepts Cash only
I wanted to try another place to eat in Alabang, so I walked for 15 minutes until I found Molito Lifestyle Centre, a hidden gem. It has a lot of places to eat and drink outside, such as coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. I went to EACH, which is short for The Exchange Alley Coffee House. I always get up at 6, so once a week or once a month, I’ll try a new coffee shop or breakfast place. Next time, I’d buy a bike, but for now, I’m just going to a coffee shop. haha
I asked for 3 cheese and an iced mocha coffee in EACH. The place was relaxing, and they open at 7 a.m., which is great for people like me who like to get up early. I got a call from a friend while I was ordering breakfast, and it was fun to talk to them while I ate. The 3 cheese grilled bread has a nice crunch on the outside and a gooey centre. But if I wanted to try it again, I’d probably make it at home instead of going out. I didn’t really like the iced mocha. I’d rather just make instant coffee at home. I’d give this a pass, I actually just enjoyed the breakfast because I got to speak to my friend. I will try other food spots in Molito.

Pound Burgers
Alabang Town Center
Price: Php175-Php500
Accepts Cash, Debit/Credit Cards
Another burger place in Alabang. This place was all the rage before, so I went there to see what all the fuss was about. I like how the place looks on the inside. It’s very cosy. I like the service as well. I got burger sliders because I didn’t think I could handle one of their big burgers. The slider burgers were not worth the price. I like my burgers simple, without a lot of toppings, and good value for money..
Whistlestop
Westgate Alabang
Price: Php300-Php1,000
Accepts Cash, Debit/Credit Cards
This diner is open all the time and serves mostly Filipino food and drinks with alcohol. It is also one of Alabang’s places to eat outside. I like how old the place is, but the food was not good. I got beef salpicao, but it’s not even soft and tastes a little salty to me. I should have cooked at home because it’s also kind of expensive for how good it tastes. I’m not going back. I was so sad that day, and this food made me cry from being so sad, haha.

Love,
