Batangas, Philippines
Christmas has long been a special occasion in the Philippines. It’s the best feeling in the world to be surrounded by people you love and who love you back, especially when you’re at home with your loved ones. I enjoy being around by caring people. I spent the last five years celebrating Christmas in Singapore and was always surrounded by individuals who showered me with kindness and affection. This was my second time celebrating at home, and I was overjoyed. I also had a Zoom call with my dearest friends in Singapore; it truly is the most delightful time of the year!

We enjoyed a fantastic time at Rose Villas Resort. I enjoyed the garden-themed resort that was also pet-friendly. I loved that we had the entire resort to ourselves, along with excellent Filipino cuisine! I had the most fun with our fluffy dogs. While some seek a lovely location, dogs enhance the beauty of the location:)
They also had accommodating employees that made sure we were taken care of. The pool was large enough for a family and very clean. I appreciate how it has cement benches in the pool where you can sit and sip your wine or beer. I also tasted their Batangas tamales with caramelized syrup, which we call latik. Tamales in Batangas are a Filipino delicacy, similar to suman in Bicol. Tamales are rice cakes prepared from glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk, wrapped in banana leaves, and steamed until soft and chewy. It is best served hot or cold with latik or caramelized sauce. It’s dessert perfection!
We stayed in a family room, a two-story room with four beds, two kings and two doubles, for only Php8,000.00. We also gave a 50% discount because the property is owned by Malen’s relatives. Our room was large, the bathroom had a heater and a strong flow of water, there was a refrigerator where we could store beer and wine, a dining table, a tiny kitchen, and cabinets.
The house was in excellent shape, and I was relieved that it was pet-friendly so that we could bring our dogs. However, having dogs around might be exhausting because you must carry them everywhere. We have three large dogs: a Siberian husky (my doggie), a Chow Chow (Lewd’s doggie), and a Japanese Spitz (Malen’s doggie). The FurRer clan! I’d still prefer to have them around whenever we go out for a break.
I love our stay in the resort and will highly recommend it to anyone. 🙂
*Please bring insect repellent because there are a lot of mosquitoes
