Batangas Philippines

My friends from Lipa Status and Batangas Republic were invited again to blog about another food spot in Batangas, this time it’s food truck!

Chino Latino – Mexican Food Truck in Batangas
Location: Dayton Food Park, Lipa
Price: Php200-Php500
Photos grabbed from: PJ Mea

A food truck is a mobile kitchen that prepares and sells meals to hungry customers. This idea appealed to me because it centred on serving quick and simple street cuisine in an outside setting. Chino Latino in Lipa is where I finally got to experience Mexican street cuisine, and I couldn’t be happier. We dined on a beef tortilla, a steak burrito, a burger, and a cheese quesadilla. The cheese quesadilla that was constructed with a grilled tortilla and melted cheese was rather tasty. However, I had just finished lunch at Rolando’s, so this was actually my snack, and I was too full to enjoy the burrito and burger. haha They use corn tortillas and shredded beef to make what they term beef birria, however I found the beef to be drier than I would have liked. The corn tortilla was my favourite part because it was so crisp and the cheese was so melty.

Although it wasn’t the best food truck or Mexican food I’ve ever had, I enjoyed my time here and would return to sample more of their offerings because they were reasonably priced.

Love,
Maria, sometimes Niskie

“Here’s my advice for dealing with love or family trauma: accept the apology you’re never going to get and move on. There, I just saved you PHP10,000 in therapy. You’re welcome.”
